My Journey
In March 2012 I learned I had Ovarian Cancer. At the time, I'd been traveling all over the country teaching workshops on sound healing including vocalizing and working with crystal singing bowls. I was in the prime of my life, at my long sought after perfect weight, and feeling healthier than ever before. This book is about my journey. It's about using an approach to healing with cAnswer (renaming and reframing -- words matter!) using the tools that mainstream medicine could provide -- Chemotherapy (I lovingly refer to it as Chemo/Dreamo). I will say that I had tremendous resistance to conventional medicine and my healing background had taught me that this kind of treatment was essentially poisoning the body. But I realized quickly that I would not be assisting in my healing with a belief that I was poisoning myself!
Since then I have had 2 more rounds of Chemo/Dreamo in 2014 and 2016 -- and each time I have gone deeper into myself and explored how I could "do it differently" and "have fun with it." I know, I know. How do you have fun with cAnswer? By changing the way you think about it -- by changing your beliefs.
My first book Holy Shift! Everything's a Gift is about the original diagnosis and treatment in 2012 for which I had the support of both my parents. My second round in 2014 ended just about the time my mother was diagnosed with Pancreatic cAnswer from which she died in April 2015. My father died a year later. So when it was necessary for a third round in 2016, I knew I had to build my own support system. I called upon my community for strength and music. I invited friends to accompany me and sing with me during each Chemo/Dreamo treatment. My Chemo-Sabe was born!
I took so many exciting new journeys and learned so many new lessons that each cAnswer adventure deserves it's own book. Holy Shift! Here We Grow Again! will detail the second cAnswer Dance as well as my parents' passing. Holy Shift! Third Time's the Charm will teach a new and better way to dance. This period inspired the birth of two new CD's.
From this last cAnswer Dance in 2016, I can see cAnswer centers across the country employing a new way of doing treatment filled with love, laughter, and song.
